We are Nikki and Paul Morris, a husband-and-wife team based on the Kāpiti Coast.

Procure 101 is the digital evolution of our procurement business, MOX, which we launched four years ago with a simple, ambitious goal: to build a better New Zealand. For our first three years, we grew entirely by word of mouth—a milestone we’re incredibly proud of—while quietly saving the country millions of dollars behind the scenes.

Our journey started across both the UK and New Zealand private sectors, where we spent over two decades mastering the complexities of major procurement and contract management. When we eventually brought that expertise into NZ’s public sector, we hit a wall. We saw firsthand how frustratingly slow government systems move. Innovation was constantly talked about, but rarely executed, buried under endless layers of sign-offs by people who didn't understand the realities of procurement.

We grew tired of the talk. We knew exactly what changes New Zealand organisations needed to make their procurement faster, smarter, and more effective, but we needed the freedom to actually build them.

Procure 101 was never built to sell... We [MOX] couldn’t keep up with the demand from our clients, so we asked ourselves “how do we work smarter, not harder”... Procure 101 was born (although it didn’t have a name back then). Our system was built purely for us for our own efficiency, accuracy, and quality. We built it to service our own clients - and it worked!

Whilst working for a council, we were coaching a procurement specialist on how to use our tools. They were amazed and asked, “Do you sell this?” We replied, “We don’t, but we absolutely can”. After preparing Procure 101 to be a sellable product, the person who planted the seed had moved back to their previous organisation and they were the first customer of Procure 101.
